paris, london preview

so we went to paris and london this summer, and it was amazing, i loved it! i kind of want to live there. jordan and madie have most of the good pics from the adventure, so i will get them from them and upload those later but for now.....

my favorite was this:

Marie Antoinette's Hameau behind Versailles...
we all decided to build a hansen family community that looks just like this and live there, i think it is a pretty awesome idea

Thanks Dad and Mom
We love you!

summertime and the livin's easy

oh what do i do in the summertime when all my time is free? the following...all are little things that will pale in comparison with what is to come in 5 days (PARIS and LONDON) so, i thought i should blog about them now.

floral design class (my "T" shape arrangement)

jordan's birthday present...a triptych i am still working on

bow stuff (one of my favorite flowers we made)

decided to make thank-you cards, they are made out of some vintage flour cloths i found at, lucketts, my mecca

gave merry a monogrammed manicure (after i told her i couldn't paint birds and butterflies she suggested her name)...she loved it so much she called me the other day and our conversation was the following
merry: "koobs, i am calling because well, i don't know how to tell you this, i don't want to offended you......but............?
me: "it is ok mer, you can tell me, what's up?"
merry: "well, my nail polish is coming off, and so i think i have to take it off, i am so sorry"
me: "mer, its ok, really, i don't mind we can give you another one later."
merry: "no, but really really i am so sorry"
(this went on for a while)
merry: "so, ok i will take it off, but do you think khaki madison, my stage name will fit for next time?"
me: "uh i think it is too long but maybe we can try it..."
merry: "yeah yeah, i just thought it would be a good idea, so yeah yeah, just think about it, and i will talk to you tomorrow."

not pictured: mostly i just watch valentine dance to justin bieber, its the best (but everytime i try to record it i am thwarted by distracting balloons, computer mice, baby dolls and sometimes the camera shimself).

btw: when i typed this blog's title sublime was stuck in my head, not ella fitzgerald which i think changes the mood of the post, ijs.

otra boda..

here are some pictures from a small reception i did...sadly it was a pre-reception and the couple ended up not getting married...the flowers were still pretty though.

on a separate note...
get ready (for anyone who still checks my seldom updated blog) for an awesome blog about all the funny things from kindergarten, i am trying to compile a list of awesome sayings....it should be pretty great.

facebook to the rescue

so. back in january i did some flowers for a wedding (with lots of help from mom, madie and page) being the first time i really did this, i was sad when i forgot to do something kind of important--TAKE PICTURES. I have always been pretty bad at capturing my life with the camera, and have, also, always lamented this vice. Modern day trends, however, have come to my rescue and facebook has provided me with a second chance at a flower portfolio, and (drum roll please) i now present some long awaited pictures...

note: sorry they aren't the best quality...i promise next time to document better my work.

death by asphyxiation and i-phone misplacement

as children we would always ask my mom, "do you know where {insert toy of choice, or if you were me, current biography of an artist} is?" her reply was usually, "i don't know, where did you leave it?" she was always right, we just didn't always remember where we left our stuff.
one would assume, and rightly so, that as we have gotten older we would be more adept at finding our things, but as of late we have started searching aimlessly for our books, shoes, cell phones, or what have you again. we have returned to asking our mom, "do you know where, {insert toy of choice, i-phone for me} is?" her new reply is "i don't know, have you checked the refrigerator?" she, now, is usually right, we just don't usually remember that valentine has a love for placing any and all items in the little baby-v sized fridge in the kitchen's island. today when i looked over she was even trying to fit inside it herself, i laughed of course but am grateful she can't actually fit inside and instead opted to asphyxiate her baby doll and am grateful that there is a glass door so that as i walked by i could see the baby doll laying there with (for those of you concerned that valentine has err creepy-ish tendencies by freezing baby dolls) her pacifier and water bottle for comfort.
